As part of Universal Orlando Resort, Volcano Bay is a tropical-themed water park located in Orlando, Florida. The first water park constructed by Universal itself, Volcano Bay is a showcase for advanced water ride technology, boasting some of the most high performing ProSlide water rides available, such as HydroMAGNETIC ROCKET, TORNADO 32, Double TornadoWAVE, and a WaterKINGDOM.

Relationship

ProSlide and Universal Studios worked closely to develop a world-class water park that would be known as one of the premier water parks in the industry. Together, the companies created a ride mix that included 17 water rides such as the “2017 IAAPA Best New Water Ride” TornadoWAVE 60 and “2017 Best New Roller Coaster” HydroMAGNETIC ROCKET water coaster.

Opportunities

Standing a towering 200-feet tall, Universal knew the Krakatau volcano would be the centerpiece of Volcano Bay. ProSlide designed the park’s signature ride, the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, as the centerpiece of its world-class ride mix. The HydroMAGNETIC ROCKET water coaster powers its way through the heart of the volcano using LIM (linear induction motor) technology to propel a four-person raft uphill and race through dark twists and turns within the volcano at high speeds. Krakatau winds in and out of the volcano to end with a spectacular grand finale plunging through the waterfall.
