Inspired by Mayan culture, Xetulhá is a family water park that expands on the already extensive recreational offerings of the Retalhuleu complex in Guatemala.
A brand-new water park developed by IRTRA and themed to reflect the country’s cultural heritage, Xetulhá, which means “under the water” in Mayan, is a sister water park to the already established Xocomil. The park features over 40 water slides and attractions that span over 76,000 square meters.
Building on the success of Xocomil, IRTRA partnered with ProSlide for the development of Xetulhá to deliver rides that matched the larger than life Mayan themes the park would evoke. The partnership proved fruitful, with ProSlide installing some of the biggest water attractions in the area, opening to rave reviews in 2026.
With the already established Xocomil nearby, Xetulhá was a welcome challenge. It presented the opportunity to curate whole new water ride experiences in the region that would put the park on the map. When the park opened in 2026, it opened with a handful of Central American-firsts for ProSlide; aMammothBLAST/FlyingSAUCER 45 hybrid, a Double TornadoWAVE 60, and a Dueling RocketBLAST/FlyingSAUCER 20 hybrid. These installations introduced advanced ride technology, establishing Xetulhá as Guatemala’s next great water park.
