This water park is housed within the aquatics facility formerly built for the 2008 Olympics and was the site of the world’s first ProSlide RideHOUSE.
The Water Cube, also known as the Beijing National Aquatics, is located at the Olympic Green in Beijing. This center was originally designed for the aquatic’s competitions at the 2008 summer Olympics. In 2010, after the Olympics, the facility was renovated to include the addition of a 11.99 m² public water park.
ProSlide worked on the Water Cube before it opened in 2010, helping transform a section of the aquatics facility into a world-class water park. ProSlide installed 20 premium water rides at the Beijing water park, with 13 of them being aquatic play rides affixed to the customized ProSlide RideHOUSE.
Designed to keep the tourism interest alive in the former Olympics facility, Water Cube needed high performance, iconic water rides that could fit into the indoor space. ProSlide installed the most iconic water ride in the world – the TORNADO 45 – at the Beijing location, making it the world’s first facility to accommodate the massive indoor funnel ride. Catering to kids and family audiences at Water Cube, ProSlide also designed the world’s first RideHOUSE aquatic play center to offer an all-in-one family entertainment site.
