Located in Melgar, Colombia, Cafalandia Water Park is a picturesque location where families can enjoy endless amounts of fun. Situated within the CAFAM Melgar holiday park, Cafalandia is a well-known destination within the region. Originally built to evoke fantasy and local legends, reproductions of breathtaking castles adorn the site. Today the park has transformed into a water park with rides like the Red Dragon, Hydra and Medusa, whose names hold true to the park’s fantasy roots and inspiration.

Relationship

ProSlide has worked on three projects with Cafalandia, the first beginning in 2017 with the installation of three iconic water rides: FreeFALL, SuperLOOP® with SkyBOX® and OctopusRACER. After the success of those high-performing rides, Cafalandia partnered with ProSlide again the next year to bring the excitement of their iconic water rides to seven KIDZ rides installed at the park. In 2021, ProSlide and Cafalandia worked together to bring Latin America’s first Dueling Water Coaster – the IAAPA IMPACT Award-winning Dueling PIPElineBLAST®/FlyingSAUCER® – to the Colombian park.

Opportunities

With Latin America’s first ever Dueling Water Coaster, Cafalandia saw the opportunity to position themselves as the must-experience leisure destination in the region. The addition of the Dueling PIPElineBLAST®/FlyingSAUCER was a strategic addition that introduced a high-performance water coaster that is exclusive to the area. The head-to-head competitive racing ride pits riders against each other in a riveting race to the finish. The ride path was custom designed to include high-speed straightaways and G-force turns that accelerate riders into six of ProSlide’s award-winning FlyingSAUCER® features. Increasing the sensations of racing are three patented RallyPOINTS – sections of u-shaped flume with low divider walls that allow riders to see and hear their competition. Two patented BLAST booster sections power vehicles through the ride by using precisely positioned water nozzles to propel riders up inclines with uncompromising speed.
