Offering an eclectic mix of family-friendly rides and thrill seeker-approved experiences, Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada is one of the largest and most popular outdoor water parks in the Madrid area.
Located approximately 30 km from Madrid, Spain, Aquópolis Villanueva de la Cañada is an outdoor seasonal water park that offers a wide range of water attractions that encompass family-forward attractions and high-thrill experiences. Along with a sprawling white-sand beach and a host of amenities such as restaurants, lounge areas, and VIP spaces, Aquópolis has a little something for everyone.
2014 marked the first collaboration between park operator Parques Reunidos and ProSlide, a collaboration that resulted in the installation of a TORNADO 24/BehemothBOWL 40 hybrid. Returning eight years later, ProSlide contributed a mix of KIDZ Rides to Aquópolis’ kid-friendly area called Mini Park. With scaled down versions of ProSlide’s signature attractions, notable slides from this install are a TORNADO 12, a KIDZ ProRACER, and a KIDZ BOWL. Perhaps the most significant development from this ongoing partnership is “Kilaueu,” a RocketBLAST fitted with three FlyingSAUCER features and a FlatBLAST start which opened in 2026. With a track that runs 180 meters and hits 7 meters at its peak, it’s one of the most unique and thrilling water coaster experiences in all of Europe. According to Aquopolis’ General Manager Mariano Valverde, “Kilauea is a dream.”
ProSlide and Aquópolis have both been in operation for roughly the same number of years, so when the park approached ProSlide in 2014, there was common ground found in their shared expertise and extended experience in the water attractions industry. ProSlide makes cutting-edge rides, and the park knew it would benefit greatly from the diverse attractions they could deliver. While the TORNADO 24/BehemothBOWL 40 hybrid broadened their adrenaline-fueled lineup and the KIDZ Rides boosted the parks kid-oriented offerings, it was the Kilaueu expansion in 2026 that signaled a giant leap forward in the partnership. The RocketBLAST water coaster was immediately established as one of the parks marquee attractions, providing a vibrantly distinctive identity and a differentiator from other parks in the area.
