In 2024, Rapids Water Park, in partnership with ProSlide Technology Inc., the world’s leading water ride designer and manufacturer, celebrated the opening of Mega Mayhem, an experience already setting new standards for the water ride industry in the state of Florida. This newest addition to the park is the largest water slide at Rapids and holds the title of the first-ever Dueling RocketBLAST water coaster with FlyingSAUCER 20s in Florida.
Key Features
With dueling flumes at 837 feet (per lane) Mega Mayhem offers the ultimate racing experience for guests going toe-to-toe with family and friends. With intentionally- designed low-separator walls along the ride path, racers can see each other as they speed along, amplifying the racing experience as they hear and see their opponents!
The coaster features six blast zones which propel riders uphill using ProSlide’s advanced BLAST technology. This technology grants 50% steeper inclines compared to traditional water coasters, delivering an unparalleled ride experience for guests. Additionally, it allows for a 50% higher payload capacity and lowers water and energy requirements by 60%.
Coaster Experience
Reaching speeds up to 22 mph (35 km/h), riders on Mega Mayhem experience a thrill like no other as they venture through four FlyingSAUCERs (two per lane), a series of unexpected twists, turns, and thrilling drops that reinforce the competitive nature of the ride. The combination of high-speed thrills and innovative design ensure that every moment on Mega Mayhem is filled with excitement.
“There are so many different dynamic changes of direction: uphill, downhill, turns left and turns right. [You] go into enclosed sections, open sections, sections where you look across to see where you are in the race.
