ProSlide Technology Inc., the industry leader in water ride design and manufacturing, successfully enforced its patent rights in the United States. On November 9, 2023, a jury in Florida, USA found that WhiteWater West Industries Ltd. willfully infringed, ProSlide’s valid patents for its innovative product, the FlyingSAUCER®, and for its non-commercialized ORBIT® technology, by offering infringing products for sale in the United States. In an order unsealed on November 12, the Florida court affirmed the jury’s findings and entered a permanent injunction (effective September 11, 2024) barring WhiteWater from further infringement, including manufacturing, using, offering for sale, or selling within the United States or importing into the United States WhiteWater’s AquaSphere and Tailspin products.
Rick Hunter, ProSlide President & CEO says, “We are very pleased with the court’s findings and with the entry of the permanent injunction. The United States is an important market for ProSlide. We appreciate that the court recognized that WhiteWater’s continued sales of the Tailspin in the United States would cause ‘incalculable harm’ to ProSlide’s business and that ProSlide had ‘the right to be the first’ to take its patented ORBIT® technology to market—an opportunity that was taken by WhiteWater’s infringing AquaSphere. Finally, we are grateful that the court held that, as the holder of the infringed patents, ProSlide had the right to exclude WhiteWater from selling and manufacturing these products in the U.S. market.”
The FlyingSAUCER® was first introduced to the water park industry in 2015 with the opening of Singha at Siam Park, Tenerife, Spain. The ride won the IAAPA Brass Ring Award for Best New Water Ride of the year. As the industry leader in water ride design and manufacturing, ProSlide has led the market in water ride innovation and technology for over 35 years including 16 IAAPA First-place Best New Water Ride awards in the last 20 years and 4 IAAPA IMPACT Awards.
