Purpose-designed for the authentic TornadoWAVE 60, ATRIUM creates an expansive, light-filled ride experience while giving indoor water parks greater freedom to design beyond their walls.
LONDON, UK — September 22, 2026 — ProSlide, the global leader in water ride design and manufacturing, today announced ATRIUM, an innovation that enables indoor water parks to extend the iconic TornadoWAVE 60 beyond the building envelope while maintaining the enclosed, year-round ride experience guests expect.
ATRIUM was introduced in collaboration with Aqualibi, the indoor water park at Walibi Belgium, during IAAPA Expo Europe in London.
Purpose-designed around the scale of the TornadoWAVE 60, ATRIUM combines an expansive, dome-shaped structure with ProSlide SuperCLEAR fiberglass. Its generous overhead space and abundant natural light create an open, airy environment that preserves the dramatic scale and visual impact of the TornadoWAVE experience.
Riders journey from inside the water park into the enclosed TornadoWAVE outside, surrounded by natural light and a striking sense of openness, before returning indoors.

For indoor water park operators and designers, ATRIUM also creates new possibilities for how valuable indoor space is used. By positioning one of the ride’s largest elements beyond the building envelope, parks can preserve indoor floor area for additional attractions, amenities, and guest experiences while still delivering a large-scale, high-thrill water ride.
“Indoor water parks face a unique design challenge: every square metre inside the building matters,” said Aaron Wilson, SVP Business Development – EMEA & LATAM, ProSlide. “ATRIUM gives designers and operators greater freedom to think beyond the walls of the park without compromising the scale and impact of the TornadoWAVE experience. Its expansive domed design and natural light create a true atrium around the ride, making the structure part of the experience itself.”
The first ATRIUM project will enhance Waikiki, Aqualibi’s TornadoWAVE attraction in Belgium. The project continues the longstanding collaboration between ProSlide and Aqualibi as the park invests in its guest experience and long-term sustainability objectives.
“As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we decided to invest in this new solution for Waikiki for two main reasons,” said Jean-Christophe Parent, General Manager, Walibi Belgium. “First and foremost, it will further enhance the guest experience and comfort, which remains at the heart of everything we do at Aqualibi. Secondly, it will help us improve our energy efficiency and continue progressing towards our ambition of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030. We are very happy to continue our collaboration with ProSlide on this new project and look forward to bringing it to life.”

For riders, ATRIUM transforms the transition outside into part of the experience itself. The spacious domed interior, generous overhead clearance and natural light create the feeling of a true atrium: expansive, bright and open, while maintaining protection from the elements.
