Splash down in America’s largest indoor water park.
Kalahari Resorts Poconos opens 220,000 s.f. of watery fun.
Todd Nelson, owner of Kalahari Resorts, just broke his own record. Up until early March 2017 the largest indoor water park in the U.S. – at 173,000 s.f. – was Kalahari’s Sandusky, Ohio resort.
But that was then and this is now: his newly-opened Kalahari Resorts Poconos officially weighs in at 220,000 s.f.,
“It’s so wonderful to create America’s largest indoor water park,” proclaims Nelson, “and it’s actually the third time we’ve done that!”
The Poconos “Phase II” expansion includes 8 new ProSlide rides, a wave pool, lazy river, and much, much more.
The Sahara Sidewinder is an indoor looping waterslide (ProSlide SkyBOX/SuperLOOP) that features a trap-door start that drops you into a near-vertical plunge at up to 25 miles per hour.
The Screaming Hyena (a ProSlide FreeFALL), takes you from high above on a 250-plus foot journey to an amazing splashdown below.
Just for the little ones, the Coral CoveKidz Zone features activities, slides, bouncers and much more.
Taken from the local name for Victoria Falls in southern Africa, The Smoke That Thunders – a ProSlide Dark Mammoth – is a massive family raft ride that’s great for all ages.
Victoria Falls (a huge ProSlide TORNADO 60) delivers an unforgettable waterslide experience: what starts as a serpentine course quickly leads to a huge funnel where guests will swing between free fall and weightless hang time before splashing down at the end.
Zip, zag, twist and turn as you tube down the length of Kenya’s Korkscrew, a thrilling ProSlide PIPEline with Explosion Features.
The Cheetah Race Mat Slide – a thrilling ProSlide OctopusRACER – brings out the competitive side of waterpark lovers. These four-lane slalom racer slides feature rolls and drops throughout.
Elephant’s Trunk: Twirl uncontrollably and get swept away by this incredible tube slide (an exciting ProSlide PIPEline) that takes you outside the waterpark and back in to splash down into the Lazy River.
Zig Zag Zebra: This winding tunnel ride (another adrenaline-boosting ProSlide PIPEline) travels outside the waterpark and back in, to splash down in the Lazy River.
Why did Kalahari choose ProSlide rides? Of course it helps that ProSlide makes the best water slides in the world for the best parks in the world, but really it comes down to relationships. According to Nelson, “We’ve had a good partnership for a lotta, lotta years. They’re exclusive in our Pennsylvania project, so every single ride out there is a ProSlide product. We’re very pleased with them.”
But it’s not just relationships; this is business, after all. “ProSlide’s impacted my bottom line a lot. You know, the indoor waterpark is the reason people come…and for us to have the latest, greatest, and the best things out there it’s crucial. Another thing I just love that ProSlide does is that when you get a date from ProSlide, you’re opening up. No matter what they have to do, we will open up.”
And all of that adds up to happy guests, a happy customer and a strong, continuing relationship. “This thing couldn’t have turned out any better,” beams Nelson. “Our guests are loving it, they’re smiling, the families are happy. We love working with ProSlide…we love what we do, just like you all do at ProSlide, so we’ll continue to create together.”
“…the greatest water park in the world!”
