Record-breaking ProSlide attractions double park attendance.
Every day is Funday at Funfields Water Park in Whittlesea, Australia, and since partnering with ProSlide in 2013 they’ve unleashed the beast! In the past two seasons, attendance is up nearly 100%.
“In two seasons alone, our two ProSlide rides have helped increase our annual attendance by nearly 100%”
John Verga, Funfields Water Park (Australia)
Standing out in a crowded market
First opened in 1985, Funfields has always offered a family-friendly environment, with a blend of both wet and dry attractions. However, they weren’t the only ones: the area, located about 40km north of Melbourne, has many large municipal indoor water parks. Funfields wanted to really stand out, be known as a regional destination. Enter ProSlide.
Go big or go home
Funfields added two new high-capacity ProSlide anchor attractions that are not just local favorites; they’re world-record holders in their respective categories:
Typhoon is a 137m-long (550 foot) two-person enclosed tube ride (the world’s longest ProSlide CannonBOWL™ 40, opened in 2013) that hurtles down the steep in-run (dropping 19m at speeds of up to 30 km/h), then shoots into the wide-open bowl, running high on the wall for peak thrills.
Kracken Racer is a 113m-long (370 foot) racing slide (4-lane ProSlide KrakenRACER™, opened on December 12, 2015) that allows riders to battle each other along the braided arms of this legendary titan before blasting into a rolling, high-seas finish. It is the first KrakenRACER in Australia and is the longest that ProSlide has ever built.
Making the Bucket List
Funfields was recently name to the Victoria Top 100 Bucket List as one of the best places to visit in the province of Victoria, and remains the area’s most popular family-friendly water park, with attractions for kids of all ages.
“Funfields wants to give our guests the best; that’s why we buy our rides exclusively from ProSlide.”
